About Operation Störfang

Imagine your self as a German General in the Crimea, Russia 1942. Your task, the capture of Sevastopol, the heaviest fortified city in that time. The Russians dug in deep, supported by large batteries of heavy guns such as Gorki I and II. Naval bombardments are a constant danger for your army while you're fighting a way to the port city. Before the main attack was launched, almost every artillery gun and airplane had been brought up, trying to blast the heavy fortifications into rubble and dust.

Eichenbaum's Operation Storfang (OSF) could be your tool to experience the 2nd World War in the Crimea. As an add-on & mod for the great game Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin; will it give you the possibility to be a witness of the heavy battles and lead your own forces over the hills towards Sevastopol.

You do not have to manage any mods or scenarios and OSF does not modify your version of Combat Mission permanently. Both can be played separately.

OSF is a huge CM campaign with highly detailed maps derived from original photos, topographic and tactical maps from 41/42 etc...
Every street, every building block, every forest you'll encounter will be as it was in that time with a maximum offset of 40 meters. Graphical terrain mods turn the CMBB surroundings into the Crimean peninsula with just a few clicks. You can fight with the forces that really were there same time, same place. Maybe change history because you can achieve victory on some spots, while the commanders couldn't, 62 years ago...

3d visualisation and other technologies drive the engine of OSF. You can plan the flow of the operation ahead and respond to situations that occur on the front. The campaign system, that's linked to a 3d world; gives you the possibility to call on extra reinforcements, artillery or air support, wait for an attack or push things over limits. Your role as commander is the red line through this massive historical operation.
